Internal Medicine

Dr. Jennifer McGugins Hill earned her medical degree at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed residency training in primary and preventive care at the former Saint Vincent’s Hospital Medical Center in New York. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and has been practicing in New York and New Jersey for more than 15 years.

Dr. McGugins Hill is an affiliate of the American College of Physicians, the National Medical Association, and served on the Board of Managers for ColigoCare at Valley Medical Group. Dr. McGugins Hill also serves on several councils and peer groups focused on addressing health care disparities and preventive care.

For 10 years, Dr. McGugins Hill served as active faculty at the New York University Langone Medical Center overseeing residents in training on an inpatient basis, while practicing outpatient medicine. For the seven years prior to joining Atria, Dr. McGugins Hill served as the Medical Director of an outpatient practice site, where she has also mentored nurse practitioner students during their clinical clerkships.

Surviving a near-drowning experience in the ocean off the coast of South Carolina reinforced Dr. McGugins Hill’s desire not just to help others, but to truly connect with them—to understand their crises and respond with empathy.

“I feel my biggest asset is compassion,” she says. “I am a daughter, sister, wife, mother, and doctor. Each role affords me the opportunity to understand and learn more about the meaning of true compassion.”

Asked why she came to Atria, Dr. McGugins Hill says, “The very thing I love about medicine is exactly what Atria is: complete health and wellness that requires addressing patients’ physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Atria is true health care. We don’t focus on just one vital sign or prescription or algorithm. Atria gives doctors the time to spend with our patients, to really know them and help them achieve their health and wellness goals.”
