Nutrition
Jordan Anthony is a registered dietitian nutritionist who specializes in performance, metabolic health, and longevity. She uses advanced diagnostics and an evidence-first approach to help people cut through the noise of conflicting nutrition advice and develop plans that fit their unique needs. She pairs clinical training with a background in communications, which allows her to translate complex science into clear, realistic guidance her patients can actually follow.
Nutrition is Anthony’s second career. After earning a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Southern California (USC), she spent several years working in entertainment public relations. The turning point came when her grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer and Anthony began taking her to medical appointments. During one visit, the two met with a dietitian. “I’d never thought of this as a career, but I saw how this dietitian was helping my grandma by suggesting better eating habits, and it stuck with me,” Anthony says.
She couldn't stop thinking about the field. Anthony enrolled in night classes while still working, and after excelling, left her job to pursue nutrition full time. She completed prerequisite coursework across nine local colleges before joining USC’s master’s program in Nutrition, Healthspan and Longevity.
Anthony credits her communications training for one of her greatest strengths as a dietitian: making sense of a famously confusing subject. “There's a lot of noise when it comes to nutrition,” she says. “My master's was incredibly evidence-based, so science is always first.” When patients come to her asking about the latest social media trend, she now enjoys figuring out which things are supported by evidence, which are not, and which are emerging but not yet ready for prime time. “I read the research papers so you don't have to,” she tells her patients.
Her career has centered on prevention and longevity medicine. After earning her master’s, Anthony became the corporate wellness dietitian at Riot Games, where she led nutrition education and partnered with the culinary team to bring nutrient-dense options to the gaming company’s Los Angeles campus. She went on to serve as Head of Nutrition at the startup Ahara, working in nutrigenomics, using a person’s genes to understand how different foods influence their health. “That was my first introduction to the prevention space, and I realized I loved it,” Anthony says. “The patients actually want to make a difference and care about their health. It’s exciting to see how we can use food as medicine.”
Prior to joining Atria, Anthony was Head of Nutrition West Coast at WndrHLTH, a longevity and human performance company where she ran integrated diagnostics, recovery strategies, and lifestyle programming. Along the way, she also provided performance nutrition counseling for athletes ranging from high-school competitors to professionals, developing individualized nutrition, hydration, and recovery protocols.
Throughout her career, Anthony has developed deep familiarity with advanced testing in genetics and metabolomics, and has special clinical expertise in helping performance-minded people focused on optimizing their health and extending their healthspan. Anthony is also experienced at working with patients on metabolic health optimization and in guiding people through thinking about nutrition before or in addition to metabolic medications. “Nutrition plays a big role in people’s progress,” Anthony says. She helps patients protect muscle and meet their protein and micronutrient needs while building habits that last.
Anthony’s approach is rooted in meeting people where they are. Rather than overwhelm patients with rules, she focuses on one or two realistic changes at a time—something as simple as adding chia seeds to breakfast to boost fiber for the week. “Nutrition is not all or nothing with foods categorized as ‘this is healthy’ and ‘this is not’,” says Anthony. “I want people to stay engaged and open to the process, so I ask them about their ultimate goals, and then we talk about the process of how we’re going to get there together.”
At Atria, Anthony is energized by the chance to practice nutrition as part of a team. “Nutrition should be integrated into all of the medical sub-specialties, and we should all be sitting at the same table so we can talk about each patient together,” she says. “The fact that Atria has so many specialists under one roof is so exciting for me."
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Anthony is a self-described foodie who loves exploring new restaurants and the city’s diverse food cultures. She enjoys hiking, spending time outdoors, and staying active on the weekends. She is also a regular source on nutrition topics for media outlets including CBS News, Newsweek, and Forbes.
